Occasionally I design display ads!

One is an advertisement for a jointly sponsored forum in the European Union. The second is a promotional advertisement for the Weekend Life section that I redesigned.

The forum advertisement ran in China Daily’s European edition. The rigor and sophistication of European design are extraordinary, so I consciously designed something that would comfortably sit next to European design work, hence the strong use of grid and rules, a la Emil Ruder.
